You can preset Price List Analyzer configurations in your personal account in Seller Assistant.
To configure Price List Analyzer settings go to Tools/Price List Analyzer section and choose Cost Settings.
Then choose a specific Amazon marketplace where all these settings will be applied.
Notes
Preset configurations will be applied only to the selected Amazon marketplace. For different marketplaces you have to preset different calculator configurations.
Only marketplaces supported by Keepa are available for selection. You can find a list of these marketplaces in this article.
Selling Price Calculation Method
Select how your profit will be calculated. There are four options to chose from:
Current BuyBox Price – by default
Average BuyBox Price for 30 days
Average BuyBox Price for 90 days
Average BuyBox Price for 180 days
Logistics
You can configure expenses for FBA and FBM logistics by switching between FBA and FBM:
Shipping Cost per pound (kg)
Shipping Cost per item
General Prep – cost of packaging or repackaging of goods, labeling
Fragile Prep – additional packaging for fragile goods or other costs for fragile goods (e.g. bubble wrapping)
Hazmat Fee – extra charge for products classified as hazardous materials
Oversize Fee – extra charge for products that are larger or heavier than standard limits
Inbound Placement Service Fee (FBA only) – the cost of spreading inventory across Amazon’s fulfillment centers close to customers.
Read more about Inbound Placement Service Fee settings.
Note
Measurements and currency are automatically changed depending on the selected Amazon marketplace
Shipping is calculated by the formula:
FBA Shipping Costs = Actual Item Weight * FBA Shipping Cost per Pound + FBA Shipping Cost per Piece
FBM Shipping Costs = Actual Item Weight * FBM Shipping Cost per Pound + FBM Shipping Cost per Piece
VAT & FAT on Fees
You can configure Value Added Tax (VAT) – is a consumption tax that is added to the price of most goods and services. The rate of VAT charged on goods and services depends on the type of product.
Enter all the required rates in the fields based on the selected marketplace:
VAT Rate
VAT Reduced Rate
VAT on Seller's Fees
Then select whether VAT will be applied to the calculations from the list of schemes
Selecting the "Cost of Goods Including VAT" checkbox means that VAT is already included in the COG you entered and will not be deducted additionally from the profit.
You can read some Examples of VAT settings.
Sales Tax
Retailers collect sales tax on orders shipped to addresses in states where a sales tax is applicable. The amount of tax charged varies depending on the state and local tax rates in the buyer's location. At the time of purchase, the sales tax charged will be displayed at checkout.
You need to choose sales tax due to certain state where you buy products.
Selecting the "Apply sales tax" checkbox means that tax will be added to the profit calculation.
You can also configure Digital Service Fee and Additional Expenses settings. Additional Expenses allow you to add extra costs per item:
Misc Fee Rate – a percentage of COG
Misc Fee – a fixed amount
You can view all the details of the profit calculation in the pop-up window that appears when you hover the cursor over the calculator icon in the profit field.
Manage Cost Settings separately for each Price list
You can change any costs and fees except the Selling Price Calculation Method, and the Price List Analyzer will immediately recalculate the data in the price list for each product.
If you change the settings while processing the price list, they will be applied, but the system will display a revert icon
next to the values that were calculated using the previous settings.
For the most accurate results, it's best to correct Cost Settings after the price list has been fully processed. Incorrect profit calculations can stem from misconfigured tax or expense settings. Always verify these components in the Price List Analyzer settings before interpreting results.
