The Match Flag system lets you define whether a specific identifier–ASIN pair should always match, never match, or remain open for review. Decisions can be session-only or persisted depending on the identifier source and the action taken.
Matching Rules Page
Matching Rules is the centralized management page in Price List Analyzer where all confirmed and excluded identifier–ASIN pairs are stored. It has two tabs:
Always Match – lists all confirmed pairs. Populated automatically from Product database or when "Always" is set in Price List Analyzer. You can View, Unset matching, and set Never match.
Never Match – stores all excluded pairs. You can Set as Always match or Remove pair.
Both tabs support search by ASIN or identifier. You can Add new pairs manually by clicking "+ Add pairs" button and enter ASIN and UPC/EAN in line.
External Identifiers in Product Database
The External Identifiers table on the Product details page shows all identifiers linked to a product. Every identifier listed here is implicitly treated as Always match. The table shows the source of each identifier. You can:
Unset matching – removes the Always state without creating an exclusion
Never match – moves the pair to the Never Match tab in Matching Rules
To add identifiers manually, click "+ Add identifier" and enter UPCs, EANs, or GTINs one per line or comma-separated. Type is auto-detected.
Match Flag in Price List Analyzer
The Match Flag column appears in price lists table for each row. It has three states:
Always match – forces this identifier–ASIN pair to match on every future upload. Locks the pair in Price List Analyzer.
Never match – excludes the pair. The row is filtered out before processing and does not appear in the file.
Set match – no decision yet. The match is not used until confirmed.
You can select multiple products and apply the rules in bulk by clicking the desired option in the Set match dropdown
How a flag behaves depends on where the identifier came from:
Product DB / Manual identifiers arrive as Always by default and are locked in PLA. The only available actions are setting to Never or deleting the identifier from Product database entirely.
Auto-matched identifiers start as Set match. Setting Always writes the identifier to Product database and locks the pair going forward. Setting Never stores the exclusion in Matching Rules only.
Note
Auto identifiers do not appear in Product database unless explicitly confirmed as Always
In-session and Pre-session Decisions
When you set a Match Flag in Price List Analyzer, the effect depends on whether the row already had a saved decision before you opened the file:
In-session – the flag was set during the current session. The decision is temporary: you can undo it at any time by removing flag. Nothing is saved to Product database unless you confirm the pair as Always. Rows flagged as Never fade out but can still be reverted.
Pre-session – the flag was already stored in Product database or Matching Rules before the session started. Changing or removing the flag in Price List Analyzer is not enough to revert it. To undo a pre-session decision you need to either delete the identifier from Product Price List Analyzer or remove the rule from Matching Rules.
Note
Using Remove flag on a pre-session row deletes the identifier from Product database permanently. There is no confirmation prompt.
