Sourcing AI is a built-in feature of Seller Assistant that allows you to research suppliers in one click using ChatGPT. The tool sends product data to our GPT agent: Sourcing AI by Seller Assistant (Beta), which searches for matching offers from U.S.-based suppliers.

Note
Supplier search available only on amazon.com

How to Use Sourcing AI

You can find the Sourcing AI button in the following views:

  • Product Page View

  • Side Panel - Single Product View

  • Side Panel - List View

  • Quick View

  • Storefront View

When you click the button, a new tab opens with the GPT chat and product details pre-filled into the prompt. We pass the following data (if available):

Title: [Product Title]
Max COG: [BEP]
Model: [Model]
ASIN: [ASIN]
UPC: [UPC]
EAN: [EAN]
Brand: [Brand Name]

Data is URL-encoded and sent as a single prompt string. If UPC, EAN, or Model are missing, they are excluded from the request. GPT will still attempt to find the product using the remaining details.

Key Benefits of Sourcing AI

  • Exact product match by ASIN, title, UPC, model, or part number

  • Only U.S. suppliers – excludes sources like Alibaba, Temu, etc.

  • Clear pricing and availability, pulled from supplier websites

  • Up to 10 verified suppliers, sorted by price

  • COG vs Amazon price comparison for quick sourcing decisions

Sourcing AI can save hours of research and reduce the risk of sourcing mistakes.

Limitations of Sourcing AI

  1. Works better with more data

The more info you include (ASIN, UPC, model, title, Max COG), the more accurate the results.

Example: A vague title like "Cambro container" may return irrelevant items. Adding ASIN or model greatly increases accuracy.

  2. Public data only

The chatbot can only find products listed on public websites. It won’t return results from private B2B platforms or discontinued products.

  3. Max COG helps filter expensive options

If Max COG is included, results will skip overpriced suppliers. If not included, you’ll need to assess pricing manually.

  4. No real-time inventory or pricing

GPT retrieves info from websites but can’t guarantee availability or current pricing.

  5. Multipacks and bundles

Some listings may refer to packs or sets. Always double-check if the offer matches Amazon's unit count.

Match Confidence

When product identifiers are incomplete, GPT assigns a match confidence:

  • Exact Match – Based on UPC, EAN, or model

  • ⚠️ Likely Match – Based on title/brand only

Likely matches include a disclaimer, and results are sorted by confidence and then price. If supplier pricing exceeds your Max COG, a warning will be shown.

Note

If there is no UPC, EAN or model in the listing, the product is only matched against the available data. Please check the accuracy manually.

Warning

This is a beta feature. Results may contain inaccuracies. Please always verify product details manually.
